First Blog

This is my first attempt at blogging, and considering that it only took me a month to sign on, chances are good this will be my last blog until 2009. I volunteer to do my magic show any time a diaper needs to be changed or dishes need to be cleaned. I believe the professionals call it "the disappearing act".

Replying post to Kerry's comment - you can too

This comment in reply to Kerry was also hard to find, so it's getting a more prominent location as well. Further posts or comments on this topic are encouraged

BruceClan has left a new comment on your post "Reunion Program Schedule - Draft 1":

Kerry,

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. Your perspective is important and your ideas have merit. The term "draft" was intended attract feedback. I hope you have started the ball rolling.

Our original thinking was that mingling was the first priority, so we proposed it for the morning. Also the afternoon at the park was intended to be basically unscheduled open time. While we anticipate some games, they would be optional and provide some outlets to burn energy. This would allow afternoon siestas or other down time for all who want it.

It would be most constructive to hear from others, particularly those with young kids, about their suggestions for organizing the day.

Let's hear your comments. :-)

Important Comment ... please read and respond

This important comment may have been hard to find as it's tucked under the Draft Schedule post. I thought it was important to post this again, but in a more prominent location.

Hi Uncle Charlie,

You are incredibly organized! I'd like to suggest a change to the draft program, if that is okay. Friday looks like great fun, but as the mother of two young children, the extended time at the park, especially in the afternoon, might be too much for the little ones. Perhaps we can meet at the park in the morning after a brief welcome, have the lunch at the park as planned, then have the mingling opportunities either back at the hotel in the early afternoon and/or at the park, and then continue the fun at the park in the late afternoon for games, fun, snacks, barbeque, etc. That way, the kids can have some fun both in the morning (when it tends to be cooler) and in the afternoon while also building in time for naps for those that need it (both young and old!).

Just a thought - I'd love to hear what you and others think!

Love,
Kerry
